Largest Contentful Paint measures when the main content becomes visible. Interaction to Next Paint measures how quickly the page responds when someone actually interacts with it. Cumulative Layout Shift measures how much content jumps around as things load.

This is why a perfect score in a synthetic tool can coexist with a failing assessment: your visitors may be on slower devices and networks than the test machine.
As a conversion input they are not modest at all. Layout shift that moves a button under a thumb, or a page that ignores a tap for a second, costs enquiries regardless of ranking.
They are a ranking input, but a modest one that mainly separates pages of similar relevance. Content and relevance dominate. The stronger commercial argument for fixing them is conversion, not position.
Laboratory tools simulate one device and connection. The assessment that counts uses field data from real visitors, whose devices and networks are usually slower than the test environment.
